Open access & licensing. All articles publish under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0) licence. Authors retain copyright and may deposit any version in a repository with no embargo. Content is permanently preserved (e.g. PKP PN) and every article carries a registered DOI.

Indexing & Abstracting

Indexing roadmap

We list a service only once the journal is formally accepted into it. Below is our current, accurate status.

RegisteringCrossref / DOIMembership in progress — every article will carry a registered DOI from Volume 1.
RegisteringISSN (National Centre)Print and online ISSN application submitted.
PlannedDOAJ — Directory of Open Access JournalsApplication planned after the first full issue is published.
PlannedPEDro — Physiotherapy Evidence DatabaseEligible trials and reviews to be submitted as published.
GoalScopus · Web of Science · MEDLINE/PubMedTargeted after an established publication record; criteria-driven, not guaranteed.

Why this matters. Listing indexes a journal has not been accepted into is a hallmark of predatory publishing. We update this transparently as each acceptance is confirmed.

Governance

Editorial Board

Our board comprises practising clinicians and academics with verifiable affiliations. Every member listed has agreed to serve and their details can be confirmed independently.

Preparing your manuscript

  • Format: Word (.docx), double-spaced, 12 pt, continuous line numbers.
  • Structure (research): Title page · Abstract (250 w, structured) · Keywords · Introduction · Methods · Results · Discussion · Conclusion · Declarations · References.
  • Blinded manuscript plus a separate title page (the only file naming the authors, with ORCID).
  • References: Vancouver style, numbered; include DOIs where available.
  • Figures: numbered, cited, ≥300 dpi.

Ethics & reporting

  • Report ethics-committee approval and adherence to the Declaration of Helsinki; obtain informed consent.
  • Follow the relevant EQUATOR reporting guideline and attach its checklist.
  • Register clinical trials prospectively (e.g. CTRI, ClinicalTrials.gov) and state the number in the abstract.
  • Authorship per ICMJE criteria, with a CRediT contributor statement; declare funding and conflicts of interest.

There is no charge to submit. Any article processing charge applies only after acceptance — and Volume 1 is free. See Article Processing Charges.

Policy

Peer Review Process

IJPAHS operates double-blind peer review: author and reviewer identities are concealed from one another, and each manuscript is assessed by at least two independent experts.

Stages & timeline

  1. Submission & acknowledgement — receipt confirmed within 3 working days.
  2. Editorial & similarity screening — scope, completeness and similarity checked; out-of-scope or high-similarity papers are returned (desk rejection).
  3. Peer review — at least two independent reviewers with no conflicts; reports typically returned within 2–3 weeks.
  4. First decision — communicated to the corresponding author, typically within about 4 weeks of submission.
  5. Revision — point-by-point response; revised manuscripts may be re-reviewed.
  6. Acceptance & publication — accepted articles are copyedited, assigned a DOI and published within about one week. Continuous publication means accepted work goes live as soon as it is ready.

Stated timelines are targets, not guarantees. Decisions rest solely on scientific merit, never on authors' nationality, institution, gender or seniority. Editors with a conflict of interest are recused.

Decisions

After review the handling editor recommends Accept, Minor revision, Major revision, or Reject; the Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision. Authors may appeal in writing; appeals are considered by an editor not involved in the original decision, in line with COPE guidance.

Policy

Publication Ethics & Malpractice Statement

IJPAHS follows the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), ICMJE and WAME. All parties — editors, reviewers, authors and the publisher — are expected to uphold these standards.

Authors

  • Originality: submit only original work and cite all sources; plagiarism in any form is unacceptable.
  • No redundant publication: do not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal at once.
  • Data integrity: present accurate data and retain raw data for review; fabrication and falsification are serious misconduct.
  • Disclosure: declare all funding and conflicts of interest; report significant errors promptly.

Editors & reviewers

  • Editors decide on validity and relevance alone, maintain confidentiality, and recuse themselves on any conflict.
  • Reviewers give objective, confidential, timely assessments and flag any suspected ethical concern.

Use of generative AI

AI tools cannot be listed as authors. Any use in preparing a manuscript must be disclosed, and authors remain fully responsible for the content. Reviewers must not upload confidential manuscripts into AI systems.

Malpractice statement

Submissions found to involve plagiarism, fabricated or falsified data, image or citation manipulation, fraudulent authorship, undisclosed competing interests or simultaneous submission will be rejected. Published articles later found to involve such malpractice will be corrected or retracted, and the relevant institutions and funders may be informed. Allegations are investigated following the relevant COPE flowchart, with the author given the opportunity to respond.

Corrections & retractions

Corrections are issued as a corrigendum (author error) or erratum (publisher error); serious problems lead to a retraction notice following COPE guidelines. The original article is never removed — the published record is preserved and clearly annotated. To report a concern: ijpahs.editor@gmail.com.

For Authors

Article Processing Charges

IJPAHS is open access and charges a single, transparent fee — only after acceptance. There are no submission, page or colour charges.

Volume 1 is free. As a founding gesture, no article processing charge applies to any article accepted for our inaugural volume. Standard charges below apply from Volume 2 onward.

Author categoryVolume 1 (inaugural)From Volume 2
Indian authors (corresponding author in India)Free₹2,300
International authorsFree$50 USD

Category is determined by the corresponding author's country. Applicable taxes, if any, are additional.

When you pay & waivers

There is no charge to submit and none during review; the APC becomes payable only once a manuscript is accepted, and ability to pay never influences editorial decisions. Authors facing hardship — including students and authors from low-income settings — may request a partial or full waiver at submission, assessed independently of review.
